Thornhayes Tree Nursery
Kevin Croucher left Bicton College in Devon twenty five years ago, to set up his tree nursery. It is now a major supplier of hedging, fruit (including heritage varieties) and amenity trees, growing both conifers and broadleaves from whips to standards. Over the years Kevin has supported many fruit days and offered an identification/advisory/design service, as well as suppling material to many garden projects.

Sympathetic to the beautiful, rolling Devon countryside, abundant natural water and the original mid-19th century garden layout of William Grant, the gardens at Hillersdon are an inspiring collection of the natural, formal and contemporary.
Hillersdon House in the parish of Cullompton in Devon, is a grade II* listed late Georgian style manor house overlooking that town. It was re-built 1848–1852 by William Charles Grant, to the design of Samuel Beazley, the notable theatre architect. The 18th Century walled garden has now been fully restored, providing all the vegetables consumed in the house, as well as seasonal fruit and cut flowers for the house. A new wildflower meadow has been sown to encourage insect and bird life whilst the 19th Century fern garden and Shell grotto are now being restored.
