PGG Ireland
Professional Gardeners Guild Ireland – established in 1985

The Irish branch of the PGG began in 1995 with just 10 members. We currently have members spread throughout the island of Ireland.

Since 1995 we have visited scores of different gardens north and south, held training days, organised 3 day garden tours and hosted 2 PGG AGMs here. All gardeners are welcome to join us. Most members who participate regularly in our meetings are Gardeners or Head Gardeners in private estates. This can often mean that on our seasonal visits to gardens we visit private gardens that are otherwise not open for viewing, however all our visits whether to public or private gardens are conducted from the viewpoint of a professional gardener. All our visits are very enjoyable social occasions; moreover they are  hugely beneficial in facilitating the sharing of useful information on a wide range of topics related to garden making and management.

PGG Ireland seasonal gatherings

Our primary activity is our seasonal gatherings, usually 3 over the year. We plan them in such a way that they rotate around the country, more or less on a provincial basis.

Future plans for PGG Ireland

Details of forthcoming meetings are published in the quarterly magazine, the Professional Gardener, and on the Events page on this website. We also plan to continue organising training days for members in work related subjects.
