As promised we will be making a return visit to Belgium this October to view the stunning autumn colour and collections of rare trees and shrubs. The tour will run on similar lines to the one we organised in the spring of last year but exact timings will have to notified nearer the time. It is planned to be a ‘botanical’ tour of some very interesting arboreta and gardens around the city of Leuven and if the tour last May was anything to go by it will be a very interesting and enjoyable visit. Basically we will be departing St Pancras station on the Friday around 11.00am and returning Sunday evening about 8.00pm. There will be a strict limit of 30 members allowed on this tour and it will be based on a first come, first served basis.

Cost and itinerary

The cost of the tour will be £215.00. This will include return train fare to Brussels via Eurostar, coach travel for the whole weekend, two nights accommodation at the Park Inn, Leuven on a bed and breakfast basis sharing twin rooms together with lunch on Saturday and Sunday, admission to gardens and guides etc. A deposit of £80 will be required when booking with the balance to be paid by 1st August. The closing date for booking will be 15th February. This will enable the Guild to purchase the train tickets based on the number of members booked and obtain a very favourable group booking rate. Any members booking after this date will have to book their own train ticket and ensure they arrive in Brussels by the group departure time (these tickets are likely to be considerably more expensive).
