PGG visit to Chatsworth House including tour of the setting up of the New RHS Show.
This is a great opportunity to visit the world famous Chatsworth House with a unique opportunity in the afternoon to see the show gardens being installed ready for the New RHS Show the following week. The day will include tours into the vinery and other glasshouses not normally open to visitors, as well as the wider garden particularly focusing on current and planned planting and development underway with Dan Pearson and Tom Stuart-Smith.
We will also get the opportunity to look around the site of the first RHS flower show at Chatsworth, viewing the general build just a few days before the show as well as the construction of show gardens, plant displays and the inflatable ‘Great Conservatory’!
The new RHS Chatsworth Flower Show is the must-see event of 2017.
Continuing to change
Having evolved over more than 450 years, the 105 acre Chatsworth garden continues to change today. The garden is famous for its rich history, historic and modern waterworks and sculptures, the Victorian rock garden and the maze – there is plenty to discover at every turn. Explore the redesigned Trout stream which provided inspiration for the Best Show Garden at the 2015 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, or wander through the Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown landscape which Chatsworth have been restoring over recent years.
Today the garden is managed by a team of 20 gardeners, 3 trainees and 60+ volunteers. At the same time as preserving its layers of history, the present Duke and Duchess are developing new areas and features of the garden for visitors.
