PGG Northern Area North East garden visit to The Fold, High Wooley and 10 Low Row, North Bitchburn, County Durham
The Fold, High Wooley
This is a garden of approximately half an acre, at 700ft asl., with splendid views over the surrounding countryside. There are herbaceous borders and island beds, ponds and numerous mature trees, a small roof garden, and a wide range of plants, many grown from seed and cuttings. The emphasis is on colour, harmony and texture, with different styles of planting to create variety.
10 Low Row, North Bitchburn
Quirky, original and truly organic, a rambling garden with 90% of the plants grown from seeds and cuttings. Created without commercially bought plants or expense, this is an environmentally friendly haven for wildlife! The sloping garden has a myriad of paths and extensive views over the Wear Valley; colour year round from snowdrops to autumn leaves.
N.B Both these gardens are on steep slopes, so suitable footwear will be required.
