PGG visit to Kentchurch Court, Herefordshire and Llanover House, Monmouthshire

Kentchurch Court, Herefordshire

This is a 25 acre garden set in the Herefordshire country side and owned by the same family for almost 1000 years. It is currently run by Mrs Jan Lucas-Scudamore and the Head Gardener is Tristan Gregory. Some of you may be familiar with Tristan’s work as a garden critic on the Thinking Garden’s website.
There is a recently redeveloped walled garden, herbaceous borders, a vegetable garden, orchards, rhododendron wood and a deer park.

Visit www.kentchurchcourt.co.uk for more information and pictures.

LLanover House, Monmouthshire

This is a 15 acre garden in the Monmouthshire countryside, created in the late 1700’s and continued and improved ever since. Many of the trees and shrubs were planted by Robin Herbert VMH, a former President of the RHS. The garden is now run by his daughter, Elizabeth Murray, and Peter Hall, PGG member and former Head gardener of Powis Castle. There is also an unusual round walled garden which has excellent late season interest.
