PGG visit to Kew Gardens

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a visit to the world famous Kew Gardens on Wednesday 1st July 2020. It’s a long time since we visited Kew as group and (Head of School of Horticulture and PGG member) has put together this fantastic programme for us.

Please choose two of the tours (one morning, one afternoon) from the following:

Tour 1 – Kew’s – Economic Botany collection…..actually quite fascinating seeing/hearing how Kew was involved in plant products from around the world….coffee, rubber etc.
Tour 2 – Biosecurity, plant health and quarantine….looking at how Kew deals with this subject…. which affects us all working in horticulture.

Afternoon tours

Tour 3 – Managing Kew’s tree collections.
Tour 4 – Kew’s Alpine collection.
