Book Online or contact Les Armstrong for this event.
The gardens at Cholmondeley cover around 50 acres with the castle, built in 1804, overlooking the much wider estate and surrounding Cheshire plains. The garden has largely been laid out over the last 60 years by the Dowager Marchioness, a keen plantswoman.
The garden boasts many interesting features including rose garden, herbaceous borders, terraces, silver garden and the Duckery and Temple water gardens, as well as a small kitchen garden and plant sales area. Within this framework the garden has interesting collections of trees, magnolias, and around 70 cultivars of rhododendron and azalea. New features for spring 2014 will include the newly re-designed herbaceous borders and silver garden, and the opening of phase one of the walnut grove, which is a 4-5 year project.
