PGG visit to St Fagans National Museum of History
St Fagans National Museum of History is located four miles west of the bustling City of Cardiff, capital of Wales. St Fagans Castle and grounds, which cover a hundred acres, were donated to the people of Wales by the Earl of Plymouth in 1946.
The site at St Fagans is divided into two distinct areas. On one side is the Castle and formal gardens, which include an Italian garden and terraces. There is a Rosery planted with an array of old and modern roses, a parterre planted with grasses in the prairie style and a Mulberry grove.
On the other side of the site are forty historic buildings from all over Wales which have been rebuilt within the grounds. Heritage fruit and vegetables are grown in some of the gardens of the buildings, using traditional methods.
