‘Yet more wild flowers of Derbyshire’ with Ken Thompson
Itinerary
Meet in the village of Litton, near Tideswell, at 10:30. No car park as such, but plenty of parking in the village. Gather by the little village shop on the south side of the village (there’s only one street).
A short walk (about 4 miles), to include Cressbrook Dale and Tansley Dale. We will see, among other things, mountain pansy and lily-of-the-valley. And for those unfamiliar with ancient Derbyshire customs, a well dressing. No refreshments en route, so bring a drink and packed lunch. For those who don’t need to rush off afterwards, I strongly recommend the Red Lion in Litton (www.theredlionlitton.co.uk), which is open and serving food all day.’
