Another successful weekend where both groups of trainees were joined by trainees from the McRobert trust in Scotland.
The group visited the RHS garden at Wisley where they were shown round by Sheila Daz and two Wisley students. They visited West Dean gardens and Sarah Win the Head Gardener of the walled garden showed them round and explained the management of the gardens.
The weekend also covered a taxonomy class by Ross Bennet and a questions session to a panel of garden experts. Each trainee brought along a plant specimen and had to describe its family, origin and growing habits to the group as part of the session on ‘Plants as Living History’.
A packed weekend of horticulture for all who participated.
